This week, Jared and I return to the live action Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan series, and we see Rohan go stir crazy during the Covid-19 pandemic, play some rock-paper-scissors, adopt a dog, and Jared and I ask one very important question about something Rohan does or does not do.

I am legitimately so happy about how amazing my top games were. There are two themes I noticed with my list: Square Enix had a good year, and we had a matchup in the top half of my GOTY list that is reminiscent of the 2019 list. I won’t even lie to you all. My top three shuffled around A LOT while I was finishing up this list, and I struggled so hard to pick which one got the top slot. After a lot of deliberation, listening to podcasts, and suffering, I finally went with the list we have here. That being said, all three of them are really phenomenal games, and I was really impressed with the games on my list this year…which it is worth noting that I finally broke my rule of 7 and have a list of 10 this year. :O

This week, Mario gets a gun again for the follow up to Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Jared and I were very surprised by and liked Kingdom Battle, so we were turbo hyped for Mario + Rabbits: Sparks of Hope. We talk about gameplay changes, how amazing the accessibility options are, and how the characters and story compare to the last game.

This week, Jared and I played through the Resident Evil 7: biohazard, the game that decided to change perspectives probably specifically so I couldn’t play it. We talk about the main story, how we felt coming away from that and the Dollar Store Chris DLC, and then we talk about punching and how it was a redeemer for the game.

This week, Jared and I finally get to talk about the first game in the Crossbell arc of the Trails series, Trails from Zero! This is its first official English release, and we talk about how it differs from other Trails games, how the characters from Sky arc are incorporated, what we love about the characters, and what mysteries are left on the table for the next game. Also, Randy Orlando is the best, bruh.
