What a combo, right? This week, Jared and I press Y to Honk, and we talk about how fun it is to cause chaos as a goose in Untitled Goose Game. After that, we discuss Resident Evil: Revelations and how it’s not always fun being on boats, especially when you have zombie-esque folks popping out of the air vents at you.

This week, we play two games in which neither of them has the full version out yet. Whoops. First, we start with the Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III demo. Jared and I are huge fans of the Cold Steel series, and the demo gave us a quick intro to what’s happened since II with Rean. We’re both lamenting that we now have to wait a whole month to play it. Then we talked about the first 4 episodes of Life is Strange 2. We discuss the story, our decisions, and how this game has some amazing political commentary. Again, now we wait until later this year to see where it goes, but we’re looking forward to that conclusion.
Leave a CommentThis week, we get another grab bag full of fun and excitement–especially regarding that rad Nintendo Direct! Jared and I are amazed at how the things we stated would never happen happened at the Nintendo Direct that happened last week, so we get super hype about that while we break down the whole Direct. Next, we move into some discussions about the new content in Catherine: Full Body. This includes spoilers of the new endings, so be forewarned on that! Finally, Jared and I discuss how we did a 273 point turn and fought physics in Human: Fall Flat.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I are gonna talk about the visual novel, 7’scarlet…oh wait, I mean World End Syndrome. My mistake. World End Syndrome is a dating sim visual novel that has our protagonist going to a small town with a mystery about people coming back from the dead and becoming Yomibitos that attack people. If this sounds familiar to you, you either played 7’scarlet or listened to our podcast about it! That said, there are some changes, this is a dating sim rather than an otome, and this game does have an extremely good twist at the end. Jared and I are also finally right on some of our guesses with the Nintendo Direct, and we chat briefly about the amazing Final Fantasy 8 Remastered.
Leave a CommentThe Queen of Otome returns!! This week, Jared and I dive into a new otome game I’ve been playing–Mr. Love: Queen’s Choice. (What a champion of a name) I break down the story as best as I can, tell you all about the four guys you can date, talk about all the different features the game has, and I look at some of the future releases for the game and come away completely and utterly bewildered.
Leave a CommentSo, I did a not very AL-like thing and watched a bunch of anime on a whim recently after I finished a kdrama and started getting Netflix recommendations. First, I watched 2011’s Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, which is sad and cute. After that, I watched one that I wasn’t as into, KyoAni’s Violet Evergarden. While it’s definitely beautiful, I discuss my problems with it here. The last one I watched was Kaguya-sama: Love is War from earlier this year. Jared actually had watched some of that, so we got to chat about what we liked and what it reminds me of. LASTLY, Jared ran a super gauntlet and has finally finished all 220 episodes of Naruto, including all the filler. You get to hear his thoughts too.
Listen here for all the anime goodness!
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I continued with our replays of the Zero Escape series with Zero Time Dilemma. We previously talked briefly about this game when it came out, but we wanted to see how it held up, if our opinions changed at all, how it all ties in in the series, and my favorite video of all time.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I played the most recent game in the Fire Emblem franchise, Three Houses. We discuss our overall thoughts on the characters, the story, how I felt about the NG+, the problematic queer bating, and how people really should just play Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. Fair warning, we do vary a bit from the consensus on this game.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I take down some Nazis in Paris in the 1980s in a spin-off, Wolfenstein: Youngblood. We talk about how the gameplay differs from a traditional Wolfenstein, the sometimes confusing genre of this game, how it sets up some wild stuff for the next game, and how the game got review bombed. Also beware the body horror.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I take on two very different games. The first is the latest game from the Yakuza team, Judgment. Jared talks about how it is to be a detective and attorney while people are losing their eyes left and right. We then talk about the endings of Virtue’s Last Reward, since we recently did another play through.
