Ages ago, Jared and I discussed Final Fantasy X-2. Jared argued that Final Fantasy X-2 was a much better game than Final Fantasy X and has since argued that FFX is a bad game. With the rerelease of the HD versions, I finally got Jared to play through Final Fantasy X with me, and so on this episode, we discuss the laughing scene, the fantastic character development and my forever love of Rikku, our thoughts on Tidus as a deuteragonist (Yuna is a deuteragonist y’all) and character, and whether Jared still thinks Final Fantasy X is a bad game.

HD Ver., and Jared briefly talks about Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and AL talks a bit about The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel. Y’all, my mind is blown that the actual title of DKC2 is Diddy’s Kong Quest not Diddy Kong’s Quest. I have never realized this, and it’s been out for decades. I PLAYED IT SO MUCH AS A KID, and I never knew!!!

This week, Jared and I get to chat about the newest entry in the Devil May Cry series, Devil May Cry 5. It has everything you could ever want–one liners, William Blake, the previz videos, dance sequences, super rad characters like Nico who deserve all the praise in the world (and not to be white washed), and super fun action that we all know and love from the series. Jared and I recorded for the very first time in person, and we decided to continue on this Resident Evil train since Jared had never played Resident Evil 4. I had to correct that!! So we talk about the story of the game, how Jared felt playing it 14 years after its release especially given the claims that this is one of the best games of all time, the development cycle and the surprises there, our thoughts on the innovations it made, and my kitties act up a lot in the background.
