This week, we have a few things to chat about. First up, we have the big news about another studio acquisition and reiterate how this is not a good direction for the video game industry. After that, Jared and I talk about The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening, and how Nintendo folks must’ve gotten high and watched Twin Peaks before making it. Finally, Jared talks about the new Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the new directions that game takes.

This week, Jared and I played the most recent SMT game, Shin Megami Tensei V. We chat about the difficulty, how the game does a lot of things right, how it does the story very wrong, and how we chose the best protagonist names of all time.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I start the episode by chatting down the news of Microsoft attempting to buy Activision Blizzard and what that will mean for the video game industry as a whole and if it’ll clean up the mess that is Activision Blizzard. After that, Jared finally really played through Super Mario 64 for the first time, and we chat about our (mostly) differing opinions on the game.

Leave a CommentIt sure has been a year again, eh? This was an interesting year in games, and there were some fantastic surprises, some important rereleases or remakes, and several games with really strong narratives.1 I feel like this list isn’t truly surprising given that it is ME we’re talking about here, but it was still a lot of fun to play some great and oftentimes impactful games in this dumpster fire of a year. Check out the podcast here and Jared’s write up here.
Anyway, let’s get this party started! There will be spoilers behind the cut!

It’s Christmas! That means Jared and I are back with our annual Christmas episode. To celebrate, we watched the best episode of Persona 4 The Golden Animation where a huge series of misunderstandings leads to a lot of girls questioning their feelings for Yu, Naoto thinking she is going to get murdered, and Yu’s Christmas party for the Investigation Team in jeopardy.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I are looking to the future to see what is coming out next year and beyond in video games and anime. There will be chaos.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I return to the world of Life is Strange with the newest game, True Colors. We talk about how much we liked the characters (Duckie is a real one), what wasn’t as good in the game, our time as a radio DJ psychic, and how it stacks up comparatively to other LiS games.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I chat about the Netflix live action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop! We talk about development, what it does right, where it goes wrong, and wonder why Vicious went to Party City for his wig.
