This week, Jared and I played a home version of an arcade version of a rhythm game with a hell of a title, as well as a cooperative game where our characters are getting a divorce. The Love Live! games leaves a lot to be desired despite some neat features, and we chat about what the problems with it are. Finally, we played It Takes Two, which has some fantastic moments and gameplay, but the story of it leaves a lot to be desired. I did get to fight a squirrel who tried to Hadouken me though.

This week, Jared and I get to talk about a sleeper hit from last year, Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Since we’d be here for days if we went beat by beat on the story, we chat about the general overview of the story, our favorite moments and characters, and we read through Jared’s notes he took to try and keep everything straight in his head.
Leave a CommentWe’re back with our annual March Madness episode! This year, we’re choosing the best song from Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. There are some surprises, some coin flips, and ultimately we choose the best of the best from the group and solo songs from the Nijigasaki gals.

Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I finally did it. We played through the Final Fantasy VII Remake. After hearing about the game for over a year, we finally got the opportunity to play it. We talk about what surprised us, what didn’t work, how adorable Aerith is, and Jared offers the rare correction on the podcast.
Leave a CommentThis week, Jared and I get to jump back into the world of Yakuza! But first, we chat about Sony’s State of Play. After that, we get to talk about my experience with Yakuza Kiwami 2, including how it connects to Yakuza 0, how it made me sad, catch up with Kiryu & the Tojo Clan, and some absolutely bananas story beats.
Leave a CommentThis week, we’ve got three very different things to talk about. First, Nintendo had their first Direct since 2019, and we discuss the announcements, what we’re excited about, and what we disagree on. After that, we counter a video released this week that ranked the Love Live! girls with our own completely accurate and objective ranking. Finally, we continue the AL Experiences Yakuza series as we talk about Yakuza Kiwami, the remake of the first Yakuza game. We chat about why the game hits harder after playing Yakuza 0, how to quit your job in under a couple of hours, and how inferiority complexes can get a lot of people killed.
Leave a CommentThis week, we start down the path of playing through all of the Yakuza games! This is the first part of me experiencing the Yakuza games as Jared plays through them. We decided to start with Yakuza 0, and we discuss some of the goofy side events, the story itself, how tragic it is that Majima cut his hair, and how we went on a major quest to find all the sexy videos.
Leave a CommentThis week, we get to talk about a game that for years became a cautionary tale for digital delivery and game preservation. We played the rerelease/revival of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition, so we talk about the legacy left behind by its delisting, our theories on why it was taken down, how it holds up compared to other Scott Pilgrim media, and our overall thoughts about the game after playing it together.
Leave a CommentThis week, we decided to take it easy and do a little ranking. Aqours had quite a year of releases in 2020, including a lot of fun new experimental songs. There was also a first single album from Saint Snow! So Jared and I are here to rank our top 10 songs of 2020 by Aqours and Saint Snow, which leads to some debate, some surprises, and lots of excitement.
Leave a CommentWhat a combo this week! We’re still catching up with games we’ve played recently. First, we talk about our co-op adventures in beating people up and cooking with Streets of Rage 4 and Overcooked 2. Yes, we are still friends, and Mr. Love gets a shout out here. Jared then talks about Hitman 3, one of the first big games in 2021, and what he thought about the final game in the reboot trilogy.
