This week, Jared and I take a peek into video games and anime presumably coming out next year. We chat about what we’re interested in, which have make or break releases, and what we think still might not come out in 2021.

This week, we look at the first season of the story in Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars, the mobile rhythm RPG based on the Love Live! franchise. We chat about the drama the Nijigasaki girls go through together, they try to run the School Idol Festival (ha!) with Aqours and μ’s, and we get to learn about a salty student council president named Shioriko.
Leave a CommentThis week, we get to talk about taking the Yakuza series, turning it on its head, and reimagining it as a JRPG. We chat about the crazy story that definitely goes places, Ichiban’s character and his role as the protagonist, whether the switch in combat style works, and how to grab your shoulder and suddenly remove all of the clothing from your torso.
Leave a CommentThis week, we’re going back to the world of otome! We’re chatting about Café Enchanté, an otome where you run a coffee shop for a coffee loving demon king, a fallen angel who loves otome, a very hungry fire wolf, and a headless knight who likes to garden. Oh, and a regular 42 year old dude. We talk about the routes, nut, who I liked the best, and why I felt like the game ended on a really bad note.
Leave a CommentIt’s the end of a saga! Anybody who has listened to the podcast knows how much we love the Trails series, and the final game in the Trails of Cold Steel series came out in October so here we are to chat about it. We break down the story, talk about some extremely cool moments, discuss what we predicted from the past games, lament a harem, and for now end the journey with Class VII, both old and new.
Leave a CommentThis week, we have two very different things, but two that solidly appeal to my interests. First, Jared and I talk about the experimental Legend of Zelda games for the Satellaview, including one that is not only a direct sequel to A Link to the Past but is also a Zelda isekai. Second, I talk about the latest otome release, Piofiore: Fated Memories, which has us dating pretty mafia dudes in Italy during 1925…and one big twist that no one could ever see coming.
Leave a CommentAfter a long year, Jared and I have finally gotten to finish Golden Wind! This week, we discuss the entirety of the arc, what we did and didn’t like about this arc, how it ranks compared to the others, and how a certain character seems to be a cat.
Leave a CommentWe’ve reached 200 episodes of the SAC OVA! Yay!! What better way to celebrate than discussing a documentary that takes it personally?! This week we chat about The Last Dance, which is the story about the 1997-1998 Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan.
Leave a CommentIt’s the return of the grab bag! This week, Jared and I get to chat about some games we’ve played lately. First, Jared starts off by talking about Greek Mythology and the roguelike Hades. He then discusses whether he actually likes Super Mario Bros. 35. Finally, we chat about my playthrough of an indie otome game, Joestar Struck, which allows you to date and yell about capitalism with some Joestars from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Join us next week for our episode #200!!
Leave a CommentWe are back in the wild, wild world of otome! This time, we discuss an anime adaptation of Mr Love: Queen‘s Choice. We talk about how it works as an adaptation, how they handled the romance elements, and the fact that it has some similarities to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure…of all things.
