This week we get to talk about two of our potential topics in our podcast–it’s an anime AND a manga! I’ve recently started reading the manga for Wotakoi: Love is Hard for an Otaku, and Jared has been reading it for a while. I also watched the 2018 anime near the end of last year, so I bugged Jared until he watched it so we could finally talk about this series. It’s a bit of fresh air due to all of the adult protagonists, but it is also incredibly relatable because of how insanely nerdy it is. There are references all over the place, stupidly cute romance, and moments where Jared says, “oh that’s basically you.” He isn’t wrong. We also talk about the problems of anime adaptations for ongoing manga, and what the anime does right.
